A repetitive housing unit is explored in section as well as in plan, considering it as a spatial problem rather than simply in terms of floor area. In this way, reference is made to the Modernist housing projects that sought to make apartments with the generosity of houses, an aspiration which has been increasingly quelled by the market. The limits of economical structure, parking dimensions and regulation are used to establish the overall dimensions. Within these a freer section is explored, making tall living spaces to the west with bedrooms, ancillary spaces and access to the east.
