The site comprises of two protected structures in a terrace of eight currently in use as a hotel. The site extends to a mews lane to the rear. It is proposed to reinstate the structures as two large four-bed terraced houses with garden level units underneath. A new three-storey building to the rear addresses the laneway and runs behind the footprint of the original mews development which appears in the 1892 O.S. Map. It houses a further three mews houses and creates a high quality contemporary element, a project that could act as a model for the development of these backland sites. The new mews houses would be finished in unpainted render with timber framed windows with the set-back level finished in a combination of glass and timber cladding. All seven units have access to a 111 sq.m. communal garden in the centre of the scheme.
