The Alliance Française Médiathèque which is housed in the mezzanine level over the Morning Room of the Deane and Woodward Kildare Street Club was cleared of clutter and dark finishes and refurbished as a book lined room that celebrates the original decorative ceiling dating from 1860. The refurbished room is designed as a flexible space that can be used as both library and event space with cinema style seating stored at one end. The room is organised by a fixed oak Librarians’ Desk with a number of smaller oak furniture elements on castors that can be cleared away for events. A similar palette of materials was also applied to upgrade the ground floor reception area.
